No matter what your skill level you are at - from novice to experienced - everyone who joins the class begins at the beginning. Once you demonstrate competence in the components you then move to the next level. Each person moves forward at his or her individual pace. But everyone moves steadily forward through the entire curriculum.

It's like learning to fly an airplane: you master the various instruments in the cockpit which are comparable to the elements of a scene. You then move on to a scene and the emotional content which is required. These skills are the foundation of a technique. I do not spend time discussing theories. You execute the instructions so that you begin to master technique. This includes making mistakes. Mistakes are wonderful learning opportunities.

Acting is not a spectator sport. You must be in the process.
Of course, observing others is a form of secondary learning if you know what to look for.

The first weeks include:

  • Relaxation, breathing, listening
  • Improvisation as a rehearsal tool
  • Scene study: Nine scene elements and how they work
  • Recall exercises: How to do them, how to use them
You will have to make time for rehearsal (it is a requirement). And relax, all critiques and notes are from your teacher only!!!

PERSONAL INTERVIEW REQUIRED
